Old Canon DSLR owners - What did your camera die of?

For those of you with ancient Canon DSLRs, such as the original EOS 1d or the original EOS 5d (aka "the classic"   ), what did your DSLR die of?

I know worn out shutters are probably the most common cause, but have you had any other issues?

Solder giving out on the PCB? CPU failure?

I find that I'm actually most interested in older DSLRs than newer ones, but would like to know some of the pitfalls that you have experienced from owning 10-20 year old cameras that have seen daily use.

Canon EOS-1D
