80 vs 50-140

After reading glowing reviews of the 80mm macro I was ready to order it and then the 50-140 reviews also perplexed me and threw in the wrench onto the wheel

Since I don't want to spend $$ on both, I'm at a dilemma currently

I don't do much macro but having it handy is nice to have

Price wise I could get a used mint 50-140 for the price of the new macro

Both lenses are equally heavy but weight favors the 80

I'd really love to have the focal  range of the zoom (more usable than just 80)

Both will be sharp and 'deadly' on imperfect skin

Usage will be mainly for landscapes, and some environmental portraits, not studio

What would you recommend? Any other angles I've not thought about?

(BTW I 'm not a pro and already have the 55-200 but the speed and bokeh of the 50-140 seduces me somewhat + the idea of adding the TC later for use with either lens + the 100-400)

Thanks in advance.
