Capture One perpetual license...not really
12

Up until appr. a year ago COP v.9 was the current version of Capture One Pro, then replaced by v.10, to which I didn't upgrade.

In august Microsoft issued the Fall Creator's update to Windows 10, and Capture one ceased to work properly. No other software that I use had problems with this Windows update. Subsequently a fix for v.10 was released by PhaseOne.

When asking PhaseOne about a fix for v.9 the answer was "not yet". At this point in time a fix has not been forthcoming, and PhaseOne has told me that the way forward is to upgrade to a newer version.

To summarize: Less than three quarters after ceasing to be the current version COP9 is no longer usable. So much for having a "perpetual license". IMHO it looks more like a backdoor subscription scheme.

PhaseOne have every legal right to act like this. I only wish they were a bit more open about it.
