G85: how does a leftie select a focus point without chimping?

I've been interested in the G85 and had an opportunity to play with it recently.  It's a camera that feels wonderful in hand, with a beautiful EVF and a responsive shutter - but it doesn't seem set up to allow easy selection of the AF zone with your eye to the EVF, particularly if you're a left-eye shooter.

The problem seems to be two fold: lefties can't really use the touch screen for this because there's not enough clearance between your thumb and your nose, and if you angle your face to get clearance light floods into the EVF; as well, you have to change your grip signficantly to stretch your thumb over to the screen. Second, using the 4-button controller doesn't work well either because it's positioned too low to maintain a good grip while adjusting focus point position, and you have to do two setup button presses to get into this mode and make sure that you don't accidentally cancel the mode by brushing another button between shots.

In short: this camera's UI seems to be more full-auto point-and-shoot than full control enthusiast camera, even though its two control wheels and otherwise very friendly control setup would suggest otherwise.

There is a solution for this...it's called an AF joystick, and it's on the G9.  Ouch.

Am I missing something?
