G1x iii

Not the best camera in the world but certainly not the worst by any means.

Reasons to mark it down. Expensive. Has decent video but no external mic or even manual gain control. Not enough zoom, 100mm would have been nice, 120mm better. Understand why the lens is 2.8-5.6 but why not 2.8-4? Has Bluetooth but no ability to use the very handy Bluetooth remote. Not able to use the Canon GP-2 GPS adapter but must use a smartphone paired with camera to geo-tag. All these would have made for a slightly larger body but would have been better value.

Reasons to mark it up. APS-c! Excellent IS. Small, not pants pocket small but jacket pocket small. Decent video with DPAF (yay!). RAW but still excellent OOC JPGs. Picture Styles which are adaptable. External flash and also able to use off camera options. Decent drive speed. Extremely quiet and unobtrusive.

I am sure I am leaving things out but I think some of what I think are lacking are not nit-picking. This is a very good camera but with just a little bit more oomph, it could have been a great camera.
