Re: Canon 700D - exposure issue - repair or replace?

Thanks again R2D2, very helpful replies.

77D seems to be the winner over the 80D

If you don't need the add'l features of the 80D, then save the weight.

but I'm undecided on whether the price jump from 800D ($1300 on Canon store but only $950 at JB Hifi) to 77d ($1300)

They're usually running about the same price nowadays. If you can find a good (legit) deal on one or the other, that might tip the scales. Main difference between the 77D and 800D is in the controls/top LCD.

800D is hard to find at the moment, whereas 77D is a lot more common. I'm wondering if there may be a reason for that?

The Canon 6D MkII seems to have pretty subpar reviews for the price. Maybe in 2-3 years my next camera will be mirrorless and/or full frame?

Keep in mind that's as compared to the likes of the 5D Mk IV and better. From what it sounds like, it may be more than adequate for what you shoot?

Yeah, the main thing I would be looking for above the 800D/77D class is the larger pictures and better low light performance. Indoor shooting, early morning, late evening, that sort of thing. From all I've read it seems that the 800D/77D are better than my 700D at the low light shooting so that's worth trying for now.
