Canon 500mm F4 IS MKi Water damaged

Hi, I've managed to drop my lens in a fresh water lake. The insurance has replaced it I'm glad to say but I still have the damaged one.
Optically it's immaculate, housing is in excellent condition but it is full of condensation and not recognised by the camera.

I was going to list it on ebay but have no idea what it's worth, don't want it to go for £3.99 if someone is willing to pay £500 for it, anyone any thoughts?

I think it just wants stripping down, drying out and the electronics probably want a rinse with distilled water to remove any contaminants. Not sure how the IS, USM and aperture mechanics will be though. Comparable used lenses are about £3500 to £4000 on line so this is probably a good fixer upperer for someone that can be bothered.

Cheers

Iain
