If only owning 1 L lens, which one: 35mm 1.4 ii, 24-70 2.8 ii, or 50mm 1.2?

35mm 1.4 ii will add most to your photographic options

A fast prime will give you a much wider range of photographic options. You will be able to shoot stunning narrow-DOF pictures. You can shoot more hours every single day - adding hours to your shooting time morning/evening. Shoot without using a flash for those baby-portaits, bar and dinner shots. You can squeeze more details out of a stills shot.

I think everyone should have a least one. Even if its the el-cheapo 50mm f/1.8. Fast primes adds so much more you can do with light - the most critical element in photography.
