'Mico Contrast' is a term that seem to be used quite easily without real agreement.

It may be that your definition of micro contrast is  different from my idea of such term. I think the term suggests 'high frequency detail'  that would have contrast in the 'micro' level.   Just from the original image, it appears to me, AIS has stronger overall contrast, but not as much minute level of contrast. Whereas  28 1.8G seems a bit less contrasty, but seem to have more nuance in the small area.  It is quite hard to be definitive as the subject does not have that much high frequency detail, like feather.

I don't own either of them but I have seen great shots from both.
