Okay hear me out. I am facing a dilemma and I need your help. I can't make this decision on my own. I have a T3i since 2011. I love it and I still do. It was my very first camera of any kind and it still serves me well. I recently hopped on the T7i deal with the Pixma printer for $500 after rebate. My main reason for purchasing the T7i was for the superb auto focusing in video mode as I plan on using it for my vlogs. Just two days later I was able to pick up a used T4i with the 18-55 and 55-250 non-stm lens for only $200 locally. I could not resist purchasing the T4i because it was a steel and it also has auto focusing (though not superb) in video mode. The content of my vlog is just me sitting in front of my "tri-podded" camera and talking/showing stuff.

If you guys were in my shoes, would you:

1. Sell the T4i (and make profit) along with the extra 18-55 and 55-250 lenses and keep the T7i?

2. Sell T7i and Pixma printer (and profit about $300 after rebate) and keep T4i?

A part of me don't want to sell the T3i just because it was my first camera. If I keep T7i, I most likely won't be using T3i at all so I'll just be keeping it as a back up. If I sell the T7i and keep the T4i, I will continue to use T3i for photography and T4i for videography. I know this is non-sense to most of you but I just want to know what would you do. Thanks

The t7i probably has the most value to someone on the used market. Sounds like you don't need the advanced video AF capability of the t7i to sit in front of a tripod and vlog, so the t4i may be good enough for that. Only you can decide if the slightly better image quality of the t7i and better video AF capability is something you really need, or if you can live without it.

Having two bodies so you don't have to switch lenses is a convenience that I find useful, so you may decide to use both for photography as well.

The T7i is a far better long term investment, IMO.
+2 And the T7i is a much more capable camera. That dual-pixel AF is simply magic.

I understand the sentimentality on the T3i, so I would probably keep it for that reason, but not expecting to actually use it again except in a fit of nostalgia. ;)

Beyond that, the T7i is definitely the keeper for day-to-day usage. The real question is, do you want/need a backup body? If so, keep the T4i around, otherwise resell it and make your profit. Keep any of the lenses that fill a gap, but otherwise lose them as well.

This is just my arbitrary view. There is no "right or wrong" answer here, just what you feel comfortable with.
