Railway Photography - is it Sports Photography
3

Most of my photography revolves round steam trains.

Currently, I am using a K50, and I usually use the 18-135 as it is good for both out of the window shots, and also for lineside opportunities. Every so often I miss pictures because the AF has one of its moments. (May well be my technique, of course). Whilst I don't think of it as "Sports Photography" I wondered if others do.  Guess if it is, I am always going to have moments - and I can live with that.

But, I was wondering if the KP would be a worthwhile upgrade.  I suppose you would call me a snapshot photographer with a DSLR . I mostly use auto - partly because the only practice I get is when on holiday, as there isn't anywhere close where I can try and improve. It seems that in many ways the KP would be good, but reading on the forum, I am just not sure, so wanted to see if anybody with experience could help my thinking.

Thanks,

John

PS. I am in no way trying to get a general AF discussion as there have been plenty. This is just in relation to railways.

Oh, and a sample as an opportunity to post one of my better pictures.
