Re: Rebel (T6/t6i) vs A6000 vs G7 - Filmmaking

Thank you for helping.

I am actually helping a young 16 year-old friend with a GREAT film script. I do own a 5DIV and a 70D. Whenever I see how easy it is to shoot 50mm F/1.8 with DPAF wide open I just can't not see it again.

I can lend him a camera and lenses, but the film is rough, in very non-friendly conditions, that's why I am not just lending him the 5DIV + 16-35mm F4 IS L and shoot 4K 4:2:2... There's a good chance for harrasement, confescation, bumps/dings... etc Both the 70D and 5D were big investments for me (60.000EGP and 22.000 EGP).

I am starting to think the cheapest DPAF camera is smartest for him, the country will NOT see 4K vs HD, but will see his focus errors, he's a 16 and not a manual focus guy at all, he'll be learning...

A Canon also means he can sell it after the film shoot for basically the same money. Say a T7i/77D for 15K can be sold for 12-13K or so. Has DPAF and surprisingly good electronic stabilization. But then again that's the same money he can get a superb 4K G7 with an EVF, peaking, etc... but resale for 5-6K max. It's an unknown "panasonic camera". I can't make the decision!

If the super cheapo 499$ SL2 vs 800+$ t7i existed here I wouldn't hesitate, but we are a bit slow with new models... It's either the non DPAF T5 for 6k or 77d for 16K or G7 for 15.5K. All with 18-55 kits.
