It was A7RII v1.10 that caused it !!!

I have finally found what I was looking for: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1388331/4&year=2015#13237446

Matt Grum posted a A7RII 30sec non-bulb mode non-LENR raw exposure. It clearly shows the "pixel pairing" caused by the spatial filtering.

This confirms that v1.10 was the firmware update that extended the "star eater" spatial filtering to all exposures of 4sec and longer:

A7RII v1.10 : "Decreases chroma noise when Long Exposure NR (Noise Reduction) is set to Off. (Note: The noise does not occur when Long Exposure NR is set to On."

A big thanks to Matt!

Having said that, there is still the occasional single hot pixel left untouched so maybe this was not yet the fully fledged star eater filtering.  I'll do some more analysis ...
