Perhaps I should clarify my goal. In the interest of consolidating my kit, while preserving most of the versatility, I was interested in the forum participants' thoughts on the following:

  • I have the M5 (new to me) and the EF-M 18-55, 55-200, 11-22, 22, and the EF-S 55-250 STM + adapter.
  • I am looking to consolidate by selling 18-55 + 55-200 and replacing them with the 18-150 to add convenience for travel and lens changing. It would also add the Digital IS for video, which I don't have now.
  • The 18-150 refurb is on sale now for a very good price
  • I would keep all the other lenses

In anyone's experience, will making this move cause a loss of IQ?

Some loss of IQ, but the 18-150 is probably the best superzoom I've shot to date, that is it's not a "dog". It performs admirably. MTF graphs show it's sharper then the EF-S 18-135 IS USM, for example.

Dustin Abbott has a wonderful review on the lens; strongly advise reading and particularly viewing his samples, they reflect the lens to a tea.
