Do watch Bert Stefani, Kevin Mullins, and Damien lovegrove information on incamera settings. I use Fujifilm and Olympus OMD ...all I shoot are jpegs and they are minimally post processed on my phone using Snapseed. Below is my blog you can see all the pics.

Like others suggested I think the key is to get the exposure as perfect you can while clicking the pic.

General settings which of course change as per the situation are

WB - auto , sharpness -+1 or 0 depends , color - 0 , film simulation - depends but mostly it is on provia or classic chrome. , Highlights -minus one , shawdows-0 or again depends. Metering - spot. Quality- fine
