Newbie lense advice

Hi, I am new to this forum and a novice photographer. I have owned a Sony Alpha100 since they were new in 2006. For years I stuck it on auto and clicked away.. I now have an interest in how it actually works and love using it now. I have an array of different small birds in my garden that I would like to capture and have been working with my standard lense that came with the bundle.

its this one

I need to to zoom in a bit more so have been looking at lenses. Now before I tell the missus how much I want to spend, and before I buy something that is not compatable or suitable for the job, I thought I would ask here.

I want to shoot small birds(sparrows, tits, robins and the like) that visit my bird table that is about 3-4m away outside my kitchen window.

i am looking at these two lenses

Firstly, are they both compatable with the a100?

secondly is the extra 100mm worth the extra £60
