Nikon 35mm f/1.8 making a lot of noise with d5500

So, I'm new to this whole camera thing and whenever I try to record a video with the d5500, I hear a problem. The lens makes the most annoying autofocus sound I've heard so far.

I've attached the Rode VideoMicro, but the noise is still there and very loud.

The only solution I found was to change the aperture to f8 and use manual recording and put on manual focus. However, I'd much rather use the autofocus feature, so is there any mic out there that will completely get rid of this sound?

Also, when I'm on manual focus, it doesn't allow me to focus it myself like other lenses, so why is that?

Thanks
