Canon 5DM4 not compatible with certain Sigma Lenses - workaround available

I own the 5DM4 and shoot with 2 Canon and 2 Sigma lenses. My Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG lens has rings in the photograph when I shoot with aperture f/1.4 - f/2. (see image below) The rings disappear with f/2.8+ aperture. I found the following article that describes the issue:

I emailed Sigma about the problem and they redirected me to Canon saying Canon intentionally did this and only they can issue a 'fix'.

Workaround: Go into the menu of the 5DM4, 'Lens aberration correction' -> 'Peripheral illum corr', set this to OFF.

Problem goes away.
