M.ZUIKO 17MM F1.8 prime lens as wide-angle lens?

Hi - I bought a OM-D E 10 Mark II with a 14-42 mm EZ lens and take primarily landscape photo for my travel. I found with the 14-42 mm EZ lens there are much room to be desired for wide-angle landscape. For the black Friday, Olympus has a sale for the 17mm F1.8 prime lens for $299.  There is also a lens kit for $699, which includes 17 mm F 1.8 and 14-150 mm F 4.0-5.6 lens with two traveling cases, and hoods.

I don't usually use telephone lens (zoom lens); other than different price to pay, what are the things I should consider to make a good decision? Will the 17 mm F.18 lens meet my need to take a good wide-angle photo?  Thank you all.
