G1X III gets firmware improvements (that the M's should've...)
1

I've posted my 1st day thoughts on the Powershot forum, but, I'm surprised to learn the Powershot G1X III appears to not have the low light shutter lag, and, has much better AF detection algorithms in place.

A real shame Canon doesn't / won't do another EOS M firmware hand me down. I shed a tear for you guys earlier even though I'm tickled pink Canon actually improved their firmware for my camera.

On a positive note, it is a preview of what's to come; obviously future EOS M offerings will have the fixes, I'm just peeved Canon makes it a selling point, when as a consumer I view it as an injustice. Be careful about ticking off your customers, sometimes they can "fire" you (Canon; no pun intended).
