Bukhara, at present in Uzbekistan, since the Middle Age used to be an important stopover along the famous Silk Road. The Ark is the citadel, built over an artificial hill and encircled by brick walls where the local rulers (emirs) lived with their families, ministers, military chiefs, and servants.
The citadel was finally destroyed by the Red Army during the Russian Civil War (1920), and little remains on the top:
To enjoy the view, go to 'original size' and then further expand (+). The uploaded image is 1750 Pix height (2.5 times smaller than the 'true' 80 MP - 18000x4320 - original produced by Hugin).
I'm pretty satisfied of the result. Your thoughts / comments?
