Mainly because the wrong ISO was used for the TG-5 by 2.5 stops. Very poor comparison shots.

I think there's two ways of doing comparison shots, one is to use identical settings, but this would mean hobbling the Fuji's brighter lens, or set auto iso and let the cameras decide, that way it also compares the software.

The Fuji 35 f1.4 is my favourite lens, so I was surprised that the TG5 was not roo far behind.

There must have been something wrong with your settings on the TG-5 as there’s no way that the camera would choose ISO 1000 and a shutter speed of 1/1000s in any normal mode.
