Switching from Pentax to MFT
2

Hi

I’m in the process of switching from old Pentax DSLR kit to MFT (Panasonic GX8) but can’t afford to replace all of my lenses in one go. I know I can buy a Pentax/MFT adapter fairly cheaply to use the old K-mount lenses in the meantime. I have lenses with/without auto-focus and with/without aperture rings. I know I will lose auto-focus with the adapter. Would be really grateful for a couple of answers from this community.

1. I’m planning to buy a converter with a stop-down control for the lenses without aperture rings. Any reason not to?

2. With the older lenses with an aperture ring should I use the control on the lens or on the adapter? If the latter, do I set the lens to wide-open or to ‘A’?

3. I have a Sigma 150-500 with OS. I’m assuming I should switch this off and just use the in-camera OS? Or vice versa? Presumably not both?

Any answers gratefully received - especially if based on experience!
