Please; Monitor Calibration Question:

Good Morning -

Curious as to how you all set your Black Level when calibrating your monitor.

My Eizo has a "Photography" preset that sets it at minimal but I have seen a number of articles that suggest .4 for printing.

My current settings:

Brightness: 80 cd/m2 (I work best in a dark room)  (100 is their default)

White Point: 5500 K,

Black Point Minimal

Gamma: 2.20

I know the correct answer is "it depends"

That said -

If I have no interest in re-jiggering images for miscellaneous outputs it would seem that I should utilize .4 so that everything is "print ready".

Does that make sense to you?

While my question pertains to black level I would love to hear your thoughts with regard to the other parameters.

Thanks - Dave
