Using color bars from 35mm filmstrip for white-balance

Hi,

I recently started with 'scanning' my 35mm negatives with DSLR (Nikon D5500 with 105mm Nikkor 1:2.8G - Lightroom 6 - VueScan 9).

On several sites it is recommended to use the small strip in-between foto's for white-balance.

Now I noticed that my negatives have a green and magenta color bar.

Can those bars be used in any form for achieving quick and pleasant negative to positive conversions ?

35mm filmstrip with color bars

Best regards,

E.J.
