Interestingly the cropping of the G1X 1 sensor for the G1X 2 made it pretty much a 4/3 sensor. One reason I stuck with the original at the the time. I also think IQ in general was a little better with the 1.

Focus speed, IQ, weather sealing, smaller size - as an outdoor hiking/fishing camera it's exactly right for me.

I'm an  Australian and we used to consider ourselves the lucky country - not so sure anymore, but we are with the pricing of this. I can have it delivered to my door from a Canon dealer for A$1410. That's about US$1050 at the moment. Pricing no doubt must work on what they think the various markets will bear.
