Sold my 2 Nikon dslrs and got myself a Oly E-p5..
I feel liberated.. and suddenly a lot lighter..
Looking forward to the next 12 months and all the travels I'll be making with a smaller backpack! 😊
Congratulations.
Some E-P5 menu help of mine at http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/56-ep5-custom-menus.html
Check that the firmware is up to date, should be at V1.7.
Use Olympus Viewer 3 to update if needed.
Make sure to use 0 second anti-shock.
Various useful links on my page http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/03-epl1-links.html
Your E-P5 menus page is awesome. Thanks for putting it together!
Thank you for the kind comment.
I still need to extract the digit and do the review side menus as well, but it's something I never use, I only seem to use the shooting modes of the camera and just take all images shot to the PC to delete/edit/think about.
Now and then I alter text if I find a better way to describe something, or find an error in my thinking (more likely). The aim is to try and make more sense out of the menus than the manuals provide.
But that's only for the E-P5, if Olympus would be kind enough to give me one of every new camera then I would do the same with them.
One useful thing with the E-P5 is the little lever around the Red button. I am famous for accidental Red button pushes and the resulting random foot videos, so for position 1 of the lever the Red button is assigned to 2x DTC to make a quick and dirty focus check, or indeed to "extend the lens" in some quick emergency shot. So random Red presses don't do damage.
Then position 2 is set to change the Red button back for the rare videos I do, then back to position 1 when I end the video.
That plus the MySets on the Mode dial have made this the best camera that I've ever used. Nothing else appeals at all since that model. Which is good, as now I free up money to waste on lenses instead.
