Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM vs XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS

I lost my Canon EF-S 55-250 telephoto zoom when I ditched my EF-S gear for Fuji

(Or if anyone has direct comparisons if the ef-s 55 to 250 to the Fuji 55-200 Those thoughts are welcome as well considering thats the ef-s lens I just gave up and used many times)

Right now I am shooting both canon full frame and Fuji.

I want something with similar reach as my old 55-250 EF-S and neither of these are quite as long as the 400 equivalent of the 250 on canon apsc.

The two options would be the newer non L canon 70-300 or the Fuji 55-200.

The Fuji is faster and probably higher build quality.  With sample images it's hard to tell what's optically better because a lot depends on the body it's mounted on and the reviews for both aren't that new.

I don't have that many Fuji lenses yet so the pro would be using my new system more the con is the canon is cheaper (439 refurbished canon price)

Has anyone used both and have any comments?  "SOMEDAY" I will probably get the 100 to 400 but today is not that day $$$.

The use would be kids sporting events, trips to the zoo, hiking, vacation and site seeing. I have not get into Bifs yet so that is not a concern.

Thank you for all thoughts.
