Photoshop speedup with NVIDIA GTX Geforce 1080
1

I had a 6-core CPU (i7-970) and a Radeon 4000-series graphics card. Photoshop took 10 seconds or longer to do a smart sharpen on a 36mp D810 file. A minute or longer on a big pano. I edit photos 'in bulk' when I do it. I got sick of the wait, it breaks your flow.

So I upgraded to a 10-core Intel i9-7900X and a Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX Geforce 1080 card.

Now smart sharpen takes no noticeable time on either large panos or single photos.

Highly recommended!

Yes I know my new PC cost about the same as a Nikkor 200mm f2. Priorities I guess...

At least I'm D850-ready...
