The D850 does Other People's Art
4

Street photographers have to be vigilant not to just capture other people's art - whether a work of art, or a performance, and think that we have created something when we've only documented the work of another.   But here are two exceptions taken with the D850.  I thought they would be fun to look at, and demonstrate the versatility of the camera.

I was lucky to have a private showing of the Leonardo this morning at Christie's.  I took one shot, handheld with available light.   This painting sold this evening for a record $450million.   I only did minimal processing.

Last week, coincidently, I shot a cast of frieze from the Parthenon by Phidias, that is hanging in my bathroom.   I was too lazy to bring a tripod upstairs, so I rested it on top of a sturdy mirror.   [The frieze cost me $650 some years ago.]

Full sized images of the Leonardo and the Phidias .
