Why do you need another crippled Pentax APS-C flagship?

I think we agree really. I’ve not argued for a flagship because to me such ideas are a bit past it. The KP is where are at the moment and a kind of KP+ may be next (no matter what it looks like) together with a newer but less sophisticated model. There will be new models since new cameras are how Pentax earns its revenue, so unless they are dropping APS-C they have to keep the stream flowing, but I doubt there would be many takers for a 1500-noter or more, say. The alternatives elsewhere and on FF are too compelling at that level and Pentax on APS-C can't really compete with say the D500 or Fuji X-T2, not when viewed as a whole system. Cheaper is recognition of that. For myself, I think mirrorless is the future on APS-C but I realise that’s an acquired taste on this forum
