Does anyone else find the D850, well boring?

I will probably be tarred and feathered for this post, but I apologize, I have to say it, the D850 is boring.  I'm a  D800 shooter.  I have seen the D810 and now the D850 and while each is certainly an improvement over the previous, the glacial pace at which Nikon appears to be listing into the modern camera market is maddening.

The D850 is certainly a very, very, very capable camera, there is no denying this.  But is it THAT much better than my D800?  I don't think so.  I shot 2 events this weekend with my D800 and the 24-120.  The results were wonderful, would the D850 have made an appreciable difference, sadly no.  What would have?  Well IBIS WOULD have, I have a box full of AIS Nikkors and IBIS would bring all these to life.  I was also shooting live view for some shots, not so wonderful on a SLR.  Mirrorless would have made my life easier.

So there, IBIS and mirrorless design is new and very helpful to me.  The minimal improvements over my D800 that the D850 has, not so much.

Oh while I'm at it, look at the new post on DPR with the Sony shift examples, also not such a bad thing.

I think Nikon has the technical know how, IMHO, their top management seems like they are riding their jobs out until they are old enough to retire.
