Double exposures?

I've known and admired double exposures over the years, though few and far between.   Yet I've not given them more than a cursory effort, myself, in all these years.

So, I 'discovered' the double-exposure setting on the X-t2 today, and started fiddling around with in-focus + out of focus double-exposures. . . don't ask me what happened next, but I awoke a few hours later in a puddle of drool with a splitting headache, and found these on the memory card.

.

Is it always like this, using that feature?   Anyone else dabble with double exposures?
