Re: x100 vs x100s

I could have had the original, S, T or the F.

The T in full black was the one for me and not based on price.

Original, slow and 12MP, dated for me.

The S, the controls just not as nice, aperture ring, dials, no four way controller but that not so great round wheel instead, slightly slower AF, not as good VF etc....

The F I did not like to hold in my hand compared to the T, literally that simple.

The T has fantastic output even with DNG converter and ACR.

But I've recently been using the Free SilkyPix EX 2.0 (it's very obtuse at first) and man the photos really come alive compared to ACR and CS6 and you finally get why they call it a 'poor man's Leica;' but there's nothing poor about it at all the files are very good, though it's early day for me so take the whole Silypix recommendation with a pinhc of salt, buy hey it's free to try no?

I have a 24MP Nikon D5300 and honestly the output from the T is as good, although I will add the caveat that I compared with my 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM at 23mm, not a prime, but using the T files with ACR it's very good but with Silkypix there's that special X100 series quality with the B&W, the tonal spread and DR with the B&W is really nice.

I mean in ACR and CS6 the T still excites me with the quality but in SilkyPix which was paired with it for a reason I guess, it's seeming better but it's my first day so...

So the S anyway would have the same output as the T, I just preferred the updated controls and layout and a few features on the T (C Chrome not one of them tbh.)

Silkypix - is fabulous hard to understand and you do need to read the online manual, but it is seeming worth it if you want to see this camera's full potential. Somehow Adobe doesn't bring it out and I am getting better B&W in a minute or less than with several minutes in ACR and even SEFX PR 2, it makes the ACR and SEFX PRO 2 look like a more rudimentary so far. And SEFX PRO 2 is pretty good.

There are other software programs others recommend for FujiFilm RAF files also.

On a tangent - I might see how SilkyPix manages with my NEF files too.

Hope you enjoy your new camera OP!!
