The M5 for portraits
The M5 for portraits

I took along my M5 to Alaska this summer and while I knew I would be shooting lots of general travel type images I also knew my son and daughter who we were visiting would want some portraits of them and their families. So besides my usual M lenses I added the Canon 85mm f1.2 and my new Sigma 135mm f1.8 ART which I have posted elsewhere in the forum some images with that lens.
We had a lot of rain which made shooting outdoors difficult and the inside of their cabin didn't really make for a good location. We finally got some nicer weather the day before I was departing. Soft lighting though clouds and I found an old bench that made a great prop to sit on. I also used the EOS M 55-200mm on my M3 if it was easier than changing my camera position, it also performed well.
Got some great shots overall as well as this cute shot of my grandson who had to take an emergency break while we shot! The 85mm proved to be the great portrait lens it is. The focus was right on which is a must when shooting wide open.
My son and grandson
Daughter and granddaughter and she was tough to catch as she was always on the move.
Houston, we have a problem!
