Peninsula of Sorrento

Sorrento in Italy has been a tourist destination for at least 150 years. From here it is easy to visit Naples and Pompei, but also it seems, Americans love to marry here.
The big buildings abouve the fort are hotels.

The area also is known for it's olives, which in autum fall into these green nets:

Even more famous are the lemon gardens, where the fruit for the Limoncello grow. The wooden constructions are often covered with the same green nets seen in the above picture to protect the lemon trees.

A village scene with the omnipresent three-weeled Ape (bee), a useful vehicle in the narrow streets.

In ancient times the Roman billionaires built their villae (country houses) along the coast. Here some remains, decorated with modern graffiti.

This is the view, the owners of this villa enjoyed.
