Not a fan of 85mm but the FE 85mm F1.8 changed my mind

After reading a lot of positive reviews and tests, I tried this lens in a store that happened to have a special one day only deal, so I got it.

It's small and light, nothing compared to my favourite Sigma Art 135mm + MC-11 but yes, it delivers. Sharp full opened, fast AF, nice rendering and attractive bokeh and moreover it has a focus button in the barrel that is quite handy. A little gem for the price I paid. It had been in my bag since I got it three months ago replacing the excellent FE 90mm that is not that snappy for portraits.

It feels great on my A7II and A6000, in this one is almost a 135mm due to the 1.5X.

I had done several photoshoots where I used this lens around 90% of the time, no issues at all. Even though, I use it in opportunities where I used the 50mm, with the 85mm, I get a bit of compression that helps me to isolate the subject in cases where the background is busy getting a nice bokeh as well.
