Was testing this (@ 1080p 100M) but the issue is overheating not battery life. As it will be in a housing, keeping the screen away from the body isn't an option, although I guess the environment will be cooler.

Currently trying to see what happens when I turn down the bitrate, at least it gets past five minutes, but that kind of defeats the object of having the camera in the first place

We have problems with the heating of the camera to, the housing has fog after a while because the cam is getting hot. Even on 1080p. Even worst on 4K.

I had that problem too, but I managed to work around it by fitting the camera in the housing 24 hours earlier than the actual dive with a ton of silica gelĀ  I managed to get like 15 minutes of 4K video with minimal fogging - impressive.

It takes at least that long to get the humidity inside under control. It helps to spray the port inside with anti-fog solution, too. Sony making some drying strips for the ActionCams that I've been eyeing for a while now (the fogging is just inevitable with these small cameras moving tons of data all the time, the heat is insane.

The Nauticam housing probably doesn't have this problem of course, being made of aluminum, but I don't see the point in spending more on the housing than I did on the camera :/
