I agree with the thread title within reason. I shoot FF and for a while was trying to avoid "conventional" prime FLs like 35 & 50. I finally broke down and got a 50 and you know what... it's not much different from 45, or 55, or 58. Turns out what I really wanted was an 85

When the mood strikes and the need to capture everything isn't there going out with one prime can work. Key is really to understand your space. Bringing an 56 to a small house party is probably a mistake, but IMO bringing a 16 out for street shooting will probably make for some boring and busy photos (at least if the subjects are people).
