My first Orion post

Last fall I started my journey into astrophotography with Orion.  My 100mm lens was too short and I didn't have a clue but I was having fun trying.

I purchased a 200mm lens earlier this year and was looking forward to when Orion would be in view from my front yard.  I've had a couple nights that were clear enough to try, almost got some data last night but the clouds rolled in while I was setting up.

Cropped composite of two different nights.  Some frames 45sec@1600, the balance at 30sec@800.  Aperture F3.2, EF 200 F2.8 lens, 7D MkII camera, and iOptron Skytracker.

Astro Pixel Processor used for all processing.

I'm looking forward to clear nights to collect more data and to try using a 62mm step ring to get rid of the spikes from stopping down.

Thanks for looking,
