Cybervision- a glitzy waste of time (and money)
1

I've been trying to use Cybervision (Power Director15 Ultra) to edit my videos for some time now, and am finally giving up, after repeatedly running into the symptoms of poorly-written, unstable, imcompletely de-bugged software. I recognize these from some personal programimng experience: windows not sizing properly, and also note that I am far from alone. Here`s a typical user comment from the Cybervision user forum on one of what seem to be many patches, of any of which, btw , Cybervision, which endlessly bombards Users with costly plug-ins, and is already pushing a PD 16 "upgrade" for nearly $100 on users, has never bothered to inform me, as a rwehistered user.

I quote:

A non-beta patch would be appreciated... I'm still using 2509 from February, and it is terribly unstable. I've owned PD15 for a mere 11 months. It seems that Cyberlink is more interested in taking money for annual upgrades than producing a stable, working product.

After 40+ years of photograph and do have some preferences about what a video editing program should provide. My type and style of video is mostly to record events, presentations and concerts, Here are a few of the public ones on YouTube:

They are hardly masterpieces,, but the latest, especially seem reasonably watchable. I enjoy taking them. However, trying to edit them in the most basic ways - WB and exposure correction, adding simple, tasteful titles in PD is extremely frustrating. There do, indeed, seem to be some worthwhile aspects to PD - multi-camera synching, etc, but the endless, garish eye candy and cheesy special effects on the one hand  and  the user-as-beta-tester instability of this software is causing me to regret ever buying it.

Photography is a small voice, at best, but sometimes one photograph, or a group of them, can lure our sense of awareness.
