Replace 80D with 6D for interior photography?

Hey guys,

I recently got into shooting interior photography and I'm doing it for part time income now along with university (hurray!). I shoot real estate property.

I want to give my clients to best results possible so I was thinking I sell my 80D, Canon EFS 10-18mm for a 6d and get a 14mm Samyang/Rokinon f2.8 lens. Since it's a pretty new body (bought it a few months ago) and I have other APS-C lenses, I should be able to break even in the end. I'm thinking that getting the Canon 6D and 14mm Samyang lens should give me overall better images for these reasons:

  • 14mm FF is wider than 10mm Crop
  • Samyang/Rok 14mm is optically superior to the 10-18mm
  • 6D should have better ISO performance (but I shoot at ISO 100--400 anyway)
  • Better dynamic range on the 6D?

Is this a good idea? My only gripe is that I still take photos for personal enjoyment and I think the 80D is overall an easier (dare I say better) body to use just for fun. But I can over look this downside because I rarely shoot for personal reasons.

Thanks for reading
