How to photograph an event with an LED background/wall?

Hello ladies and gentleman,

I am going to take some portraits of folks on a stage and the background is an LED wall.  Recently I took some shots at that site and I see that the patter on the LED wall changes in an unpleasant way.

Is there a specific shutter speed I should be using to get really clean shots?

Some will be static subjects, but most of the event will be a fitness group doing their movements in a fairly quick way, so I need to crank up shutter speed to at least 1/500.

Can any of you help me with this?

Thank you.
