7D2 Battery Drain

I think I read all the previous threads but still have a question. The threads can drift some too.

I recently purchased a factory refurb 7D2 with low shutter count and 1.1.2 firmware. I keep GPS turned off and LCD is on auto brightness.

I have 3 batteries in circulation right now, OEM and two kinda cheapo knockoffs. The cheapos drain the same rate as the OEM.

I am using a Vello battery grip so two batteries are in when is use. I think Canon claims 700 exposures with one battery. I am not getting 700 with two.

Batteries have been through a handful of recharges, not dozens yet.

Only one lens has VC which doesn't get used nearly as much as the other lenses without VC or IS or OS. VC lens only 5-10% of the photos.

Can I expect this to get better?

My 500D can get about twice the photos from a pair of much smaller batteries
