A pre-Merrill DP2 ISO oddity

In the manuals (well, the two I've read) the minimum setting is specified as ISO 50 but without any mention of it being an extended setting, unlike the SD15 for example.

Individual shooting experiences notwithstanding, does that mean that ISO 50 is actually the "native" ISO for those cameras' (DP2, DP2s and DP2x), or is it just a bad** typo?

That is the question posed in this thread.

** "Bad" as like in the SD10 manual which mentions two batteries in the hand-grip, duh.

I suppose it could be tested on the assumption that Sigma follows the Japanese 'Standard Output Sensitivity' definition of ISO, but the relevant EXIF tag SensitivityType for that is missing from the DP2s X3F files, sadly.
