Lens for food photography/travel videos

Hi all,

I am not a regular member of this forum, so advance apology for that. I use Nikon for my landscapes.

We have a Panasonic G3 that my wife uses sometimes during travel. We are planning to do some travel videos and street food photography from now on. I understand G3 will be far better for that particular use compared to my D7000. For now we are planning to use the G3 before investing in a more modern camera like G85/80. We already have the 14-42 kit lens and I was thinking off buying a budget prime for low light and some close up shots of food.

Our budget is limited. So I was considering Panasonic 25/1.7 or Sigma 19 or 30/2.8. Although initially I was leaning towards the sigma 19 for little wider POV, but B&H is currently selling the Panasonic 25 for $150. Together with one stop faster aperture, it is looking very tempting now.

So what would be your suggestion? I understand it is ultimately my decision, but still some opinion on the focal length from members experienced in food photography and relating performance of these lenses will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Rajesh
