Re: Buying a new MacBookPro - for Lr - 13" or 15"

Get a base 15" MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. One of those costs about the same as a base-model 13" MacBook Pro with touch bar, and I believe that it is by far the better performer of the two. My wife and I bought a mid-2014 version of the 15" model. I regularly use Aperture and Final Cut Pro X on that computer, and I find it to be quite fast when using these programs. The touch bar feature of the mid- and high-end MacBook Pros is a gimmick that increases the price tag substantially. The extra screen real estate and greater overall performance of the base 15" model make it a much better value, IMO. The 15" models are actually quite thin and are fairly light. I would only get a 13" model if compactness is the most-important feature.
