Benefit of the RC mode on the Olympus Em10 mark 2 and EM5 II?

I understand that compared to just using manual flashes, using this mode allows for the TTL feature.

(at one point in time, I was confused as to why this mattered - having the RC mode, I mean. I argued that I can put any flash in the hotshoe and the light would trigger other flashes to fire, so what difference did it make and what was the big deal.....which is when I was informed about the TTL, which makes sense.)

Anyway, my next question is if this is only possible with certain flash/monolight models? I have read the manual, and its possible I missed it (maybe I am overtired) but any insight would be appreciated.
