First, consider a switch to Canon or Nikon.

Consider switching to Pentax. No Nikon or Canon body have IBIS and I think you will miss it dearly. Plus Pentax keeps backward compatibilty for every Pentax lens made from 1952, even the screw-mount M42 ones with a simple adapter. As far as I know Nikon indicates many old Nikkor lenses as incompatible for the latest F-mount, they follow the politics of built-in obsolescence. I used to use an A700 which I still have and cherish. If they were newer OVF A-mount models by Sony I would have not even think to switch to another brand, I love my Minolta colection of lenses. I am using now a Pentax K-5 and I am mostly satisfied. One of many useful features is that Pentax IBIS can correct automatically horizon to some degree. Only I miss using the build-in flash as an HSS commander. It can be used as a remote wireless commander but does not support HSS. For wireless HSS I have to mount an external flash.
