Lens Advice: D500

Hi All

Thanks to everyone who has helped with advice about my move from Pentax to Nikon in both the DX and FX forums.

After plenty of thinking and talking to a couple of photographers that do similar events to myself (the joys of Facebook Groups), I have settled on the D500 with a Grip.

So now the body has been sorted, onto the glass.

I am thinking of getting the D500 kit so my thinking is:

  • Nikon 16-80 f2.8 - f4 VR
  • Nikon 70-300 f4.5 - f6.3 G ED D AF-P VR
  • Nikon 50mm 1.8G AF-S
  • Sigma 150-600 f5 - f6.3 Sport DG OS HSM

The lens that I am really unsure about is the 70-300, spec wise it nearly matches my outgoing Pentax version which is f4.0 - f5.8.

In terms of my photography I am a bit of all sorts really:

  • Landscape
  • Wildlife
  • Low Light
  • Night
  • Maritime
  • Reenactments (inc people)
  • Limited Pure Portrait

Many thanks for any thoughts, open for constructive criticism.
